How does our skin change over the course of life? What role do collagen, cell regeneration, and modern active ingredients really play? And how much science is actually behind modern skincare today?
These questions were addressed last night at the Beauty & Health Talk by Premium Medical Circle together with Breuninger and beauty partner Bioeffect at the Breuninger Flagship Store in Munich. The invited guests experienced an entertaining and informative evening for the third time in the store's beauty department, which transformed into an exclusive talk location after closing time.
The focus was on a high-profile panel with three experts in dermatology, skin health, and skincare: Dr. Susanne Steinkraus, a dermatologist with practices in Munich and Hamburg and a member of the Premium Medical Circle, Dr. Hanna M. Halter, a dermatologist from Munich and also part of the PMC network, as well as Christiane Lacher, Head of Product Training from Bioeffect. The evening was once again moderated by Karolin Kandler.
Under the title "The Science of Skin Renewal – What if skin could renew itself?" the panel discussed the development of the skin over a lifetime, declining regeneration processes, the importance of collagen, and modern approaches that can specifically support skin structure and quality. It became clear how closely medical perspective, skin health, and active ingredient research are intertwined today.
A particular focus was on the question of what role growth factors play in modern skincare. Growth factors play an important role in regeneration, cell communication, and repair processes of the skin. As we age, their natural production decreases, causing renewal processes to slow down and changes in the skin to become more visible.
The dermatological experts advocated for a conscious, individual, and consistent approach to one's own skin. Dr. Susanne Steinkraus put it succinctly: "Do less, but do it right, consistently. Take responsibility for your skin – own your skin." Dr. Hanna M. Halter also emphasized the importance of a targeted approach: "Naturalness and healthy skin are very important to me, and less is often more, but targeted."
The current hype around collagen, longevity, and skin regeneration was also addressed in the talk. The experts discussed which measures can realistically contribute to skin health and how medical treatments and care can interact sensibly.
"The evening once again showed how great the interest in guidance in the field of beauty, skin health, and longevity is. Especially since new active ingredients, trends, and treatments are so prevalent today, there is a need for formats that bring together medical expertise and everyday perspectives. This is exactly what our Beauty & Health Talk with Breuninger stands for: for inspiring discussions and exchanges with experts," says Stephanie Neureuter, CEO & Founder of Premium Medical Circle.
Alexander Entov, Managing Director of the Breuninger Flagship Store in Munich, also expressed enthusiasm about the third edition of the joint event: "We are very pleased that we were able to host the Beauty & Health Talk together with Premium Medical Circle for the third time at Breuninger in Munich.
The great interest of our guests shows how relevant topics such as skincare and longevity are today. As hosts of such formats, we want to offer our customers not only a special experience but also highlight topics that are reflected in our curated Beauty & Care range.”
After the talk, there was room for personal conversations, interviews with the experts, DJ live sounds, and a flying buffet.
