Neuromedicine

Neuromedicine combines the specialties of Neurology and Neurosurgery and addresses diseases of the brain, spinal cord, spine, and peripheral nerves. The goal is to detect nervous system diseases at an early stage and treat them on an individual basis using modern conservative or surgical procedures.

The most common neurological diseases include dementia, Parkinson's disease, multiple sclerosis, stroke, migraines, and other headache disorders. Neurosurgery addresses conditions such as herniated discs, spinal disorders, brain tumors, vascular diseases of the brain, and injuries and diseases of the central and peripheral nervous system.

Neurological diseases are among the most common diseases of all. As people age, the risk of developing conditions such as dementia, Parkinson's disease, or stroke increases. At the same time, modern diagnostic procedures, innovative medications, and highly specialized neurosurgical techniques are available today, enabling increasingly individualized and gentle treatment.

If you suddenly experience symptoms such as severe or unusual headaches, signs of paralysis, sensory disturbances, dizziness, speech problems, or visual impairments, seek medical help immediately. In the case of a stroke in particular, prompt treatment can be decisive.

Alongside treatment, prevention plays a crucial role. Risk factors such as high blood pressure, diabetes mellitus, obesity, physical inactivity, and smoking increase the risk of numerous neurological and neurovascular diseases. Maintaining a healthy lifestyle can help prevent these conditions or positively influence their course.

Modern neuromedicine relies on close interdisciplinary collaboration between various specialties. This allows diseases of the nervous system to be comprehensively diagnosed and individually treated — from prevention and conservative therapy to specialized neurosurgical interventions. Patients benefit from innovative diagnostic procedures, gentle treatment methods, and medical care at the highest level.
