Polyneuropathies

These are diseases of the peripheral nervous system. Disruptions in signal transmission lead to various symptoms, such as sensory disturbances, pain, or paralysis. The causes are diverse, most commonly diabetes mellitus and chronic alcohol consumption. However, certain medications, metabolic diseases, and vitamin deficiencies can also damage nerve tissue.

Diagnosed with special technical examinations such as electroneurography or electromyography. Also: laboratory chemical and imaging procedures.

In the Therapy the underlying diseases are treated, but supportive medication measures are also taken.
