Hvar – a holiday paradise for people with respiratory diseases

Not only the pure air and beautiful Adriatic bays make the Croatian island of Hvar a holiday paradise – the lush lavender fields also beckon

As early as 1868, the Hvar Health Society confirmed that the Croatian island of Hvar is the ideal place to cure respiratory diseases due to its particularly mild climate and pure, health-promoting air quality. But Hvar is not only popular for its fresh air and beautiful, sheltered Adriatic bays. Lavender has been cultivated here for centuries. The harvested plants are then distilled into essential oils, processed into soaps, lotions, and perfumes, and refined into delicacies such as lavender honey.

Building on that, the five-star Maslina Resort invites guests to a four-day "Lavender Sleep Retreat" in harmony with nature. The sleep-promoting wellness program includes Yoga- and sound healing sessions, lavender baths and lavender masks, guided meditations, and e-bike tours through the picturesque lavender fields. Also, the Menu has been specially composed to promote Relaxation .

The resort is located in the dreamy Maslinica Bay, amidst olive groves and terraced vineyards, and stretches over two hectares of lush pine forest with views of the Adriatic. It has 50 rooms and features its own organic garden, from which many of the ingredients used in the in-house restaurant are sourced.

The sustainable concept also includes that plastic is taboo throughout the house and the electricity is largely generated via solar panels.

The 'Lavender Sleep Retreat' is offered between May 1st and October 15th. maslinaresort.com
