Breast lift

Procedure of breast lift

The patient arrives at the clinic sober on the day of the operation. For longer journeys, an advance stay in a private clinic can be discussed. Before the Schönheitsoperation incisions are marked and corresponding "before" pictures are taken. The new inframammary fold and the possible new placement of the nipple are discussed. It is also determined where excess skin will be removed.

After you have been taken to the operating room, the anesthesia team initiates the anesthesia. Breast lifts are basically performed under general anesthesia. During the operation, the surgeon detaches the nipple from the surrounding tissue with a circular incision. The nipple is then repositioned according to the specifications. Finally, after making the necessary incisions, the breast is reshaped. Vessels and nerves are brought into the position determined during the preparation.

At the end of the operation, drains are inserted to allow blood and wound fluid to drain, and a bandage is applied. All stitches are professionally sunk and the suture material dissolves completely on its own after a few weeks. No threads need to be pulled.

Risks of a breast lift

The operation is performed under general anesthesia, which carries basic risks such as respiratory or circulatory disorders. To minimize these risks, a pre-operative consultation is conducted with the attending anesthetist.

After the surgery

The chest area is covered with a wound dressing after the operation. Patients are also regularly asked to come in for a follow-up appointment to ensure optimal results. For the first few weeks, it is also advisable to wear a special bra to support the breasts.

For the first few weeks, patients should avoid physical exertion and preferably not sleep on their stomach.
