From women for women – Gynecology in the heart of Munich

In the middle of Munich's city center, where tradition and modernity merge, lies an oasis for women who value personal and holistic medical care. The gynecological group practice "Pranner 15," where Dr. Petra Eisenmann works as a gynecologist, offers its patients a unique combination of state-of-the-art medicine, the latest equipment, elegant furnishings, and an ambiance that radiates security and trust.

Upon entering the practice, it becomes clear: women are the focus here. The stylish interior with warm tones, high-quality materials, and spacious rooms creates an inviting atmosphere that conveys calm and privacy. Thus, the reception area resembles an elegant lounge rather than a doctor's office, and the treatment rooms are notable for their friendly and comfortable atmosphere rather than sterile sobriety.

... from the most modern medicine, the latest equipment, elegant furnishings, and an ambiance that exudes security and trust.

The native of Munich, Petra Eisenmann, initially began her medical studies in Budapest at Semmelweis University, made a stopover at Ruhr University in Bochum, and then returned to Munich to complete her education at the University Hospital at Maistraße in 2000. Originally, the medical student wanted to become a surgeon , but during her training years, this branch was an – one might say – exclusively male domain, which is why she chose the field of gynecology.

A stroke of luck for her patients, as they have in Dr. Eisenmann a dedicated and empathetic doctor by their side, who is highly knowledgeable in all areas of gynecology. Her professional background is her time at the Women's Clinic Munich, where she went through all the stations as an assistant doctor: from the general outpatient clinic through surgical stations, the oncology to obstetrics.

And it was here that she found her calling, which is why she completed specialized training in perinatal medicine and obstetrics, ultimately becoming a senior physician at the clinic. Petra Eisenmann remained there for several very successful years, even accompanying her team during the clinic's move to new buildings on Ziemssenstraße.

"We offer our patients holistic care."

In 2023, however, she decided to switch to the exclusive group practice "Pranner 15." The benefit of this practice? "My four colleagues and I offer our patients holistic care. Our range of services covers all areas of gynecology, and our treatment approach is based on the latest scientific findings combined with a deep understanding of each woman's individual needs," said the doctor.

Expert in menopause-related complaints

Through comprehensive training at the clinic in specialized consultations for dysplasia as well as prenatal diagnostics – that is, prenatal examinations that specifically look for indications of certain diseases and disabilities in the unborn child – she has now also specialized in the area of menopause and generally specializing in hormonal counseling. For a long time, the topic of menopause was hardly mentioned in medicine, it was rather a taboo subject of gynecology until the 1960s when the first hormone replacement therapies were prescribed. But in 2002, these fell into disrepute when a large Women's Health Initiative (WHI) study was stopped because there was an increase in breast cancer, thrombosis, and strokes among study participants.

Dr. Eisenmann: "However, since the advent of bioidentical transdermal hormone replacement therapy, we can tailor therapy to each individual woman. I personally enjoy this a lot because we achieve good results and it allows patients to lead a life with fewer complaints." But it's not just about alleviating or relieving menopausal symptoms like hot flashes or sleep disturbances: "Rather, it's about preventing cardiovascular diseases and protecting against osteoporosis, ensuring that, for example, the heart muscle circulatory system is balanced and bones are protected against osteoporosis," the doctor reveals.

Teenager consultation at the gynecologist

Another matter close to the heart of Dr. Eisenmann, herself the mother of two teenage sons, is the education of young people, which is why many teenagers are also cared for in the practice. "Girls and young women in particular are currently being triggered by Social Media that they no longer want hormonal contraception, but with contraception only through the condom they are not very well protected against a pregnancy Here she relies on new mini coils that last for three to five years and guarantee excellent contraception.

Practice for gynecology with state-of-the-art medical technology

Another highlight of the 350 square meter practice is the use of the latest medical technology. From the latest high-resolution ultrasound devices to digital patient data, the technical equipment ensures precise diagnostics and efficient treatment processes. Minor outpatient surgical procedures such as tissue sampling or the insertion of a coil are also possible in the fully equipped treatment rooms.

For surgical indications that require a hospital stay, the practice cooperates with different surgical specialists in Munich and takes over the entire organization - from the initial diagnosis to the surgery. In addition to medical care, the practice offers flexible appointment scheduling, short waiting times and a discreet atmosphere.
