"The majority of our guests come with the classic 'ailments' of our time... Here we rely, in addition to conventional medical basics, on Mayr medicine, which is a fasting medicine that stimulates the body's own repair mechanisms and supports regeneration."

Dr. Georg Stossier, M.D.

Every stay begins with comprehensive diagnostics that go far beyond classic health checks and form the basis for all further steps: blood values, micronutrient status, metabolic parameters, functional examination of the intestines, sleep behavior, respiratory function, stress patterns, and hormonal factors provide a well-founded picture of the entire organism. Based on this data, a personal therapy plan is created that combines nutrition, rest phases, manual treatments, and modern medical procedures into a coherent whole. An important part of Mayr medicine is the intestine as a central interface between physical and emotional health. The scientifically proven gut-brain axis, through which the nervous system and the digestive system are in constant communication, shows how closely mood, sleep, concentration, and digestion are linked. Since around 90 percent of the body's serotonin (the "happiness hormone") is produced in the intestines, a stable digestive tract is not only the basis for physical well-being but also for mental balance. At BLEIB BERG, this connection is not only conveyed theoretically but also used therapeutically: relieving the intestines, training mindful eating behavior, and gently regenerating the intestinal flora form the core of the program.

Those who decide to stay have the choice between the basic programs F.X. Mayr Basic and F.X. Mayr Plus. These differ in intensity levels but follow the same principle: relieving the digestive system, restoring balance in the metabolism, and bringing the body into a regenerative mode. While the Basic program focuses more on detoxification, calming the gastrointestinal system, and reducing stimuli, the Plus program goes a step further and specifically supports weight reduction, metabolic optimization, and deeper physical renewal. The classic four-stage Mayr diet is adapted to be experienced not as deprivation but as a conscious, relieving ritual. A very important part of the therapy is the manual abdominal treatment according to Mayr. "This special manual stimulation promotes blood circulation and lymphatic flow, relieves tensions in the abdominal area, and supports the emptying of the intestines. With this daily treatment, we doctors can precisely palpate to what extent the therapy is taking effect and progressing," explains Dr. Stossier.

At the same time, this house addresses individual peculiarities, for example in dealing with allergies or intolerances. With a detailed medical history and targeted diagnostics, intolerances are identified, digestive processes are examined, and nutritional recommendations are developed that are intended to provide long-term improvement beyond the stay. Those who tend to suffer from stomach pain, bloating, or fatigue will not only find relief but also an understanding of their own body's signals and can then respond to them specifically. In this context, the handling of indulgences is also considered. Instead of stimulating drinks like coffee, stomach-friendly, alkaline herbal and medicinal teas are used to support digestion, nerves, and energy balance in a gentle way. Particularly popular – and worth the hype – is the currently trendy matcha tea. "Green tea – especially matcha and handpicked varieties from Japanese shade plantations – offers numerous benefits. It increases fluid intake and provides valuable antioxidants. Additionally, it contains chlorophyll and catechin, which are known for their detoxifying and anti-inflammatory properties," says the specialist.

Another building block is orthomolecular medicine, which views micronutrients not as a trend but as an essential part of modern prevention. Vitamins, trace elements, amino acids, and fatty acids are not used according to a universal formula but are precisely and individually dosed based on laboratory values: "From women with a desire to have children to stressed executives to older people who want to strengthen their mental and physical fitness," explains the F.X. Mayr doctor. Additionally, infusions make the therapy noticeably more efficient.

"However, it takes a good four weeks for a new habit to manifest in the subconscious to the extent that it is automatically integrated into daily routines."

One of the most characteristic elements of the retreat is the healing climate tunnel, an extraordinary place with a constant cool temperature of eight degrees Celsius and almost 100 percent humidity. Its specialty? The microclimatic environment has a calming effect on the airways, reduces allergic reactions, and brings the autonomic nervous system – the nervous system responsible for involuntary body functions (breathing, heartbeat, digestion) – into a state of deep relaxation. "In most cases, our patients fall into a deep and restful sleep after a short time," reports Dr. Stossier. The tunnel is complemented by the in-house cold chamber, which stimulates metabolism, can alleviate inflammatory processes, and gives many guests energy. Modern applications such as cryotherapy, altitude or hypoxia training, or CellAIR treatments for better oxygen supply at the cellular level are also used. Gentle sports sessions like yoga and wellness treatments like hot stone massages, detox body wraps, or lymphatic drainage perfectly round off the offer. On top of that, there is a spacious spa area with various saunas.

The individual programs – whether seven, fourteen, or twenty-one days – are based on clear therapeutic principles but remain flexible: the intensity of fasting is individually determined, nutrition is adapted to personal needs, and the medical and lifestyle-changing measures are chosen to achieve a coherent overall picture. "However, it takes a good four weeks for a new habit to manifest itself in the subconscious so that it is automatically integrated into daily routines," explains Dr. Stossier. Therefore, in his opinion, one should ideally plan two to three weeks for the first stay to establish new routines. "After three weeks, it is much easier to continue living the new insights in everyday life at home." And that is ultimately the goal – to hold on to the new, healthy self. During the retreat, you are accommodated in tastefully furnished rooms with natural wood and natural materials that leave nothing to be desired in terms of comfort.

In addition to the classic Mayr cure, the health hotel offers specialized health programs that specifically address current burdens of modern lifestyles. For example, the sleep program combines a detailed analysis of personal sleep behavior with medical diagnostics, relaxation techniques, and a coordinated diet. The stress program, in turn, focuses on regulating the autonomic nervous system and works with methods such as biofeedback, breathing training, psychological coaching, and exercise recommendations. Other focal points include programs for immune strengthening, hormonal balance (keyword women's health), as well as guidance on topics such as the desire to have children or a long-term lifestyle change.

In this way, BLEIB BERG combines the tranquility of a wellness hotel with the precision of modern medicine and the clarity for a conscious lifestyle. It is a retreat that decelerates, heals, and invites people to pause for a short time, so they can then start anew. According to the experts of the house, health is not a fixed state but a movement that finds its ideal starting point at this beautiful location.
