Dr. Christoph Wenninger

And another wish has come true: That each patient can be cared for very individually, because he or she is looked after at every stage of treatment in the practice. All steps take place on site, even a master dental technician is in the house. Attention is also paid to intensive pretreatment and comprehensive aftercare - because not only the "dental issue" plays a role. "Latest findings show that oral health is increasingly having an interaction with general health." That is why the overall situation in the oral cavity is not only looked at, i.e., which bacteria predominate, but also the parameters that result from the blood count, such as the vitamin status.

In order to make the whole process as effective and precise as possible and as pleasant as possible for patients, Dr. Wenninger's practice, as one of the few in Germany to date, largely relies on digital processes. "This starts with digital data collection up to the face scan, which allows classical impressions to be dispensed with because the entire face is mapped," explains Dr. Wenninger. "After merging all the data, an avatar of the patient with their initial situation is created." This allows treatments to be optimally planned aesthetically, functionally, and implantologically, so that the patients are best cared for and their wishes are met.

"Our task is to first look at patients as a whole and then make the procedure as pleasant and effective as possible for them."

"The data is then transferred to a digital surgery plan and transferred to the jaw with dynamic real-time navigation. So, I can see every step live on the screen," reports the implantologist. An indirect surgical technique, similar to an endoscopic treatment. The operation is performed without a scalpel and minimally invasive, only through a small, punched opening in the mucous membrane and bone. There, the implant is placed with the greatest accuracy - in the planned position, at the correct angle and the correct depth. The advantage is obvious: the treatment is shorter, it allows better bone preservation and rapid wound healing, thus also causing fewer postoperative problems.

The highest quality and most modern option is always used when it comes to materials. The key question here: ceramic or titanium? "We do both, the decisive factor is the individual jaw indication," says Dr. Wenninger. Although the trend is towards ceramic implants - nevertheless, according to the expert: "In borderline cases, when the bone supply is very low in height and width, titanium implants still offer greater variability at the moment." Even for larger restorations, when many teeth are missing, titanium offers a more stable solution. As for allergies, which are often feared, there is no evidence. At most, there may be inflammatory reactions caused by washed-off titanium dioxide particles.

Taking away patients' fear

In order to educate patients and alleviate their fears, Dr. Wenninger regularly holds informational evenings in his free time. There is not much time left for private life and hobbies. His main hobby - better his passion - is the profession. That is why, even after all these years as an experienced dentist and implantologist, the greatest thing for him is: that he can offer an individual solution with his team, in which the patients find themselves again, that they gladly accept and feel optimally cared for throughout the entire treatment. Because that is ultimately his job.
