DentalGut

A professional and friendly team welcomes you at DentalGut.

DentalGut – a timelessly elegant dental practice

When the opportunity for his own practice arose for Dr. Tomalla in 2022, he seized it immediately: A medical center was to be built in Klein-Winternheim, a community just seven kilometers from Mainz, and the practices were designed entirely according to the wishes of the new tenants. The floor plan was ready within just four weeks – he had had the vision for it for a long time – and Tomalla also had clear ideas regarding the interior design: a timelessly elegant interior with feel-good character. And so, since January 2023, the 370 square meter practice has been presented in a modern color concept of gray, beige, and black.

"I was able to determine that patients feel more comfortable and less anxious in an environment that doesn't primarily remind them of a doctor's office," explains Dr. Tomalla. The most common form of doctor phobia is indeed that of seeing the dentist. For instance, in the consultation rooms where initial discussions take place, you won't find any technical devices or apparatus. "This helps to create a good atmosphere," the doctor continues. Even the waiting areas, which are set up as stylish lounges, no longer resemble conventional waiting rooms. And drilling noises and the typical medical smell? Not present!

In general, it is important to Dr. Tomalla that his patients are the focus. He takes at least 30 minutes for an initial meeting – here, not only the current dental status is clarified, but wishes are addressed, concepts are presented, and forecasts are made. Everything is open and honest because nothing is further from Tomalla's mind than wanting to "impose" something on his patients. "After all, the therapy must also match the patient's expectations," says the committed doctor.

The physician sees the future of dentistry strongly in the digital area, keyword apps and AI.

The doctor becomes actively involved – whose treatment spectrum includes aesthetic dentistry, temporomandibular joint disorders, the so-called red-white aesthetics, as well as implants includes - and his team in one of the six treatment rooms as well as the operating room, all equipped with the latest equipment. Here, in addition to state-of-the-art intraoral scanners like the Trios 5, you will also find the Zebris JMA-Optic jaw registration system, which quickly, contactlessly, and precisely records all degrees of freedom of the lower jaw, as well as a 3D X-ray machine and a digital in-house lab with dental technician, 3D printer, and a CAD/CAM milling machine.

In general, the physician sees the future of dentistry strongly in the digital realm. “Here, more and more apps and AIs will facilitate and enrich our work,” explains Tomalla, who, for example, integrates "Smile Cloud" into his daily work. This platform allows for the creation of a biometric image of the teeth to create a photorealistic smile with just a few clicks. "Patients whose misaligned teeth I correct with invisible dental aligners can be shown the desired result in advance thanks to 'Smile Cloud' and kept informed about the progress already made during the therapy," explains the doctor. In general, his patients greatly appreciate being included in the visual communication. Because of this, the charismatic doctor gives his patients a radiant smile on their faces even before the completion of a successful therapy.
