Fehér Dental Team and Smile Lounge
In the heart of Vienna, there is every reason to smile, because the dental couple Dr. Tímea Wicker and Dr. Dr. Ákos Fehér their 'Smile Lounge', a fine private practice for holistic, individual dental treatments. With this step, they have also literally accommodated their Austrian patients, who have long been familiar with and appreciate the special treatment concept from their other practice in Sopron, Hungary.
Upon entering, the 'Smile Lounge' lives up to its name: The ambience of the light-flooded practice is more like a lounge. Dr. Tímea Wicker: 'We deliberately chose a 'home atmosphere'. Our experience has taught us that patients relax better when the atmosphere around them has a more homely character.' Relaxing at the dentist? For many, a contradiction, but for the dental couple, it is a concern beyond the interior: Everything is done here to ensure that you feel well taken care of from start to finish at every appointment.
In treatment, the two doctors also take forward-looking and patient-tailored approaches by constantly expanding their spectrum: In addition to high-tech dentistry, their focus is particularly on biological dentistry. "We know that more than half of all chronic diseases are related to interference fields in the oral cavity," reports Dr. Fehér. Classic interference fields include root-treated teeth, metal implants, or silent inflammations, the so-called NICOs (Neuralgia Inducing Cavitational Osteonecrosis).
With treatments based on the principles of biological dentistry, not only can weaknesses in the mouth be treated, but the diseases themselves can also be addressed. For example, in implantology: "Ceramic implants can best replace nature when a tooth is lost. This artificial tooth root provides a stable foundation for comfortable and aesthetically convincing dental prosthetics," explains the oral, maxillofacial and facial surgeon. Why ceramic implants? "They are metal-free and therefore more tissue-friendly than the usual titanium implants."
"Our experience has taught us that patients relax better when the atmosphere around them has a more homely character."

To ensure the best conditions for surgical and prosthetic treatments, potential inflammations in the bone must be detected. Dr. Fehér achieves this with an effective three-pillar principle: First, the quantitative measurement of bone density is carried out using digital volume tomography and the new CaviTAU ultrasound device.
With CaviTAU, sensors are attached inside and outside the oral cavity, which then display areas of low bone density, i.e., bone defects, on the ultrasound device. However, this measurement only indicates bone loss, not the cause. Unfortunately, in many practices, only the defect is often treated without considering the trigger. Dr. Fehér: "I therefore also conduct bioenergetic tests, check whether so-called NICOs (chronic or silent inflammations) are present, and make a medical decision based on these three diagnostic procedures."
For Dr. Fehér, the patient's well-being is ultimately always the top priority. "It is nothing new that dentistry uses plastics and adhesives in addition to amalgam and titanium implants. However, it is not enough to just check which material is best suited for restoring a tooth or bone, but also whether this material does not impair the patient's organism."
"We don't want to change the appearance, but rather give the face its most beautiful smile!"

In terms of orthodontics, the “Smile Lounge” also offers efficient and “healthy” solutions. Whether simple teeth straightening or complex corrections - for all indications, Dr. Tímea Wicker relies on the so-called "clear aligner" technique for both adults and children. These ultra-thin plastic splints are continuously adapted to the patient's tooth position using a digital process. And because they are transparent, hardly anyone notices that you are in treatment - important for many to continue to appear confident. The new technique fully corresponds to the holistic approach of dental and jaw specialists: "Since patients no longer wear metal brackets or wires in their mouths, there are no more irritations in the oral cavity - in general, the body is not unnecessarily stressed," says the doctor.
The holistic approach of dental professionals goes a step further: In the “Smile Lounge,” patients have the opportunity to round off their treatment with minimally invasive aesthetic treatments. For both doctors, aesthetic therapy is a coherent step, especially because they are so intensively involved with the physiognomy of the face. Once the tooth position or teeth have been optimized, small, individual adjustments can quickly achieve a big effect: by balancing the lips or slightly defining the jawline or chin, the face immediately appears more harmonious and fresher. However, only the smallest doses of fillers are used because, as Dr. Fehér says: "We don't want to change the appearance but give the face its most beautiful smile!"
