The Queen of Jazz was actually shy – but here she smiles quite unrestrainedly. A rare black-and-white picture of Ella Fitzgerald hangs in the office of Dr Dr Ákos Fehér, an art collector and jazz enthusiast. The smile is rare: “She usually looked rather serious at the camera,” explains the expert in implantology and biological dentistry.
The smile is also omnipresent in the practice rooms of the Fehér Dental Team. Whether at the reception or in the dentist's chair – patients experience an atmosphere of trust and ease. The common goal of the dentists Dr Dr Ákos Fehér and Dr Tímea Wicker: aesthetic dentistry at the highest level, for healthy teeth and a natural, radiant smile.
The couple appears in conversation like a real 'dream team.' They founded their practice in Sopron in 2002, a charming town with about 60,000 inhabitants near the Austrian border. It takes less than an hour from Vienna airport.
The Fehér Dental Team is highly specialized: Dr. Ákos Fehér is a renowned oral and maxillofacial surgeon with over 25 years of experience in implantology. Dr. Tímea Wicker is an expert in clear aligners, aesthetic dentistry, and biological dentistry. The team is complemented by prosthodontist Dr. Loránd Kémenes. All team members have international training in Germany, Italy, Switzerland, and the USA, and speak fluent German.
The practice is located in a stylish 19th-century building in the old town of Sopron. Behind the charming staircase, a light-flooded, state-of-the-art ambiance opens up. Colorfully glowing light strips on the ceiling guide patients to the treatment rooms. The most modern technology supports the practice's treatment philosophy. This includes low-radiation digital volume tomography for three-dimensional X-rays, a 3D scanner for contactless impressions, and a high-precision milling machine that produces perfectly fitting dental prostheses in less than an hour.
"We treat people, not just individual teeth."
Dr. Dr. Ákos Fehér
Invisible tooth regulation with clear aligners is also a focus: Thanks to 3D simulation, patients experience their future smile directly in the treatment chair with the help of the iTero scanner. With Digital Smile Design, the future appearance is individually determined in advance – the perfect row of teeth is virtually integrated into the face. Lips, teeth, and facial features create a harmonious overall picture.
The practice has been focusing on biological dentistry for years. It views teeth, jawbone, and oral cavity as part of a holistic organism. 'Every material introduced into the body affects the entire human being,' emphasizes Dr. Fehér. Many chronic diseases – such as autoimmune or cancer diseases – are related to disturbance fields in the jaw. Therefore, the practice uses a well-founded three-pillar principle: modern volume tomography, the innovative ultrasound device CaviTAU, and bioenergetic tests for holistic diagnosis. These tests detect so-called NICOs – silent inflammations in the jaw – and show precisely whether surgery is necessary. The goal is responsible, minimally invasive treatment.
"It is not enough to choose only the best materials – they also have to be accepted by the organism."
Dr. Dr. Ákos Fehér
"It is not enough to choose only the best materials – they must also be accepted by the organism," says Dr. Fehér. Athletes, cancer patients, and people with autoimmune diseases increasingly rely on biological dentistry. But even people who wish for long-term health and quality of life benefit enormously. With heart, experience, and utmost precision, Dr. Fehér pursues the goal: a healthy mouth for a healthy life. His expertise makes him a leading representative of biological dentistry.
