Opthalmologikum Dr. Neuhann / Augentagesklinik am Marienplatz
Dr. Tobias Neuhann is not someone who follows trends – he sets them. For over four decades, he has shaped refractive and reconstructive eye surgery in Germany and beyond. He was one of the first to use the femtosecond laser for cataract surgery, introduced new implant concepts worldwide, and over decades, built a medical center that is now one of the most renowned eye clinics in Europe.
Cataract, fake lenses, corneal transplants, implantable contact lenses (ICL) – the anterior segment of the eye is his terrain. With surgical precision, an eye for what's feasible, and decades of experience, Neuhann has operated on more than 100,000 patients – not in series, but individually, with attitude and responsibility.
Why are there several techniques in refractive surgery – or in other words: in treatments for seeing without often annoying aids such as glasses or contact lenses? Because there is no “one for all”. It has clearly been shown: Only the individually chosen method can achieve the best long-term results. It was precisely this idea that led Dr. Neuhann senior to become the first German eye surgeon in 1995 to start treating more nearsighted patients with the implantable contact lens (ICL). The scientifically proven long-term results over 20 years, now supplemented by initial 30-year data, impressively confirm this decision. Just as we humans are individual, so are the treatment paths thought and chosen individually. This requires experience, medical know-how – and equipment that is not only technically up-to-date but is optimized for surgical precision and long-term safety, supported by intelligently programmed AI.
"When it comes to the most important sensory organ of humans, we make no compromises."

Innovation runs in the family – but Tobias Neuhann visibly drove it forward. The generational change has been initiated: Raphael Neuhann (FEBO) and Dr. Tabitha Neuhann continue the work. Tobias remains present – as a mentor, source of ideas, and medical authority.
"Sometimes you have to take some risks to guarantee your patients the best treatment."
