Breyer, Kaymak & Klabe Augenchirurgie
Dr. med. Karsten Klabe is an experienced ophthalmologist and internationally recognized eye surgeon with a clear focus: modern procedures of minimally invasive glaucoma surgery (MIGS), retinal surgery, and highly precise corneal transplants using the DMEK method. As chief surgeon at Breyer, Kaymak & Klabe Eye Surgery in Düsseldorf stands for ophthalmology at the highest level - scientifically sound, operationally confident, and technically leading.
Dr. Klabe is one of the pioneers of micro-implant-based glaucoma surgery. With innovative procedures such as 360° canaloplasty or selective laser trabeculoplasty (SLT), he effectively lowers intraocular pressure - with maximum protection of the surrounding tissue. His aspiration: surgical precision with the least possible burden on patients.
As a long-standing retinal surgeon, Dr. Klabe brings extensive experience in treating sensitive eye structures. He performs vitrectomies using the latest 27-gauge technology - minimally invasive, safe, and with shortened recovery time. Also in Cataract surgeries with a laser, he fully demonstrates his surgical routine and precision.
For patients with corneal degenerations, Dr. Klabe specifically relies on the DMEK method: Only the inner cell layer of the cornea is transplanted - for particularly quick vision recovery after the procedure and a very low risk of rejection.
As the head of the Institute for International Innovative Ophthalmic Surgery (I.I.O.) in Düsseldorf and a close cooperation partner of the University Eye Clinic Heidelberg (IVCRC.net), Dr. Klabe actively shapes the further development of his field. International specialist congresses such as ESCRS, DOG, EURETINA or the World Ophthalmology Congress are part of his regular lecture schedule – there he shares clinical insights as well as research results.
With surgical precision, high innovative strength and international recognition, Dr. Klabe stands for an ophthalmologythat pushes boundaries – and sets standards.
