Zahngesundheit am Tegernsee

Pioneer of aesthetics and function

"Happy is he who can smile carefree," is the practice motto of Dr. Siegfried Marquardt. The dentist knows how essential teeth are to the effect we have on others. "People first look each other in the eye, but already the second glance is at the teeth," he explains. A harmonious smile conveys self-confidence, charm
and joy of life. "The good news is: We can restore natural beauty today at an excellent level."

The "Tegernsee Dental Health Competence Center" is passionately committed to meeting the demands of its patients with the utmost professionalism and expert knowledge. The treatment concept is based on function-based, aesthetic dentistry, which not only gives the patient a beautiful smile, but also a healthy bite.

"Happy is the one who can smile without a care" is the practice motto of Dr. Siegfried Marquardt, whose dental practice is located in the idyllic Tegernsee.

The "Zahngesundheit am Tegernsee" competence center is passionately dedicated to meeting the needs of its patients with the highest level of professionalism and expert knowledge.

The treatment concept is based on function-based, aesthetic dentistry, which provides the patient not only with a beautiful smile but also with a healthy bite.

Dr. Marquardt is a pioneer in dental aesthetics. In 2001, he was the first German dentist to be certified as a "Specialist in Aesthetics and Function of Dentistry," and he has significantly influenced the field since then.

Aesthetics, which he values highly, should not be confused with cosmetics: "Radiant white and smooth is not enough for us."

Dr. Marquardt offers the full spectrum of dentistry - and more - at his private practice on Lake Tegernsee.

For short distances and quick decision-making processes, he has brought colleagues from neighboring disciplines under his roof.

As a certified sports dentist, Dr. Marquardt is aware of the special influences of dental, oral, and jaw diseases, especially on competitive athletes.

Therefore, he serves as the team dentist for the German Ski Association (DSV) and other associations and top athletes, in order to ensure injury prevention on the one hand, but also to enhance performance.

Dr. Marquardt is a pioneer in dental aesthetics. In 2001, he was the first German dentist to be certified as a "Specialist for Aesthetics and Function in Dentistry," and he has significantly shaped the field since then. Aesthetics, he emphasizes, should not be confused with cosmetics. "Radiantly white and smooth is not enough for us," stresses the dedicated physician, who led the certification commission of the German Society for Aesthetic Dentistry (DGÄZ) until 2012. It is crucial, he says, to also consider the function, biology, and anatomy of the oral system.

"There are unfortunately no simple one-size-fits-all solutions for dysfunctions."

In his private practice at Tegernsee, Dr. Marquardt offers the full spectrum of dentistry—and more. "We achieve the best possible care for our patients when specialists from different disciplines work closely together," emphasizes the multiple award-winning expert in aesthetics and implantology. To ensure short paths and quick coordination processes, he has brought colleagues from neighboring specialties under his roof: from dental technicians, pediatric dentists, orthodontists and ENT specialists to a specialist in general medicine, allergology, and toxicology in dentistry, which is becoming increasingly important due to growing allergic reactions to various materials.

Cell biological connections also play a crucial role, for example, whenever dental and jaw bone structures show deficiencies. The optimized metabolic processes of calcium, magnesium, and vitamin D in the body positively influence the regenerative powers of the periodontal apparatus. Deficiency symptoms, on the other hand, lead to wound healing disorders.

Body posture and the chewing apparatus are also inextricably linked, explains Dr. Marquardt: "You can imagine the spine like a string of pearls that has to compensate for misalignments in the jaw area." And what is wrong at the top (mouth area) can cause problems at the bottom (back, pelvic area) — and vice versa. For example, a pelvic misalignment can cause tension in the masticatory muscles. Or a wrong bite position can block the mobility of the cervical spine. Before pain becomes chronic or dental substance suffers permanently, those affected should seek professional help.

"Unfortunately, there are no simple one-size-fits-all solutions for functional disorders," says the specialist in functional dentistry. "We need to carefully examine each patient and find out what helps in each individual case." Therefore, the practice works closely with orthopedists, physiotherapists, and osteopaths. Some incorrect bite positions can be corrected with removable splints or even fixed new dental prostheses. But sometimes the spine needs to be pre-treated, for example, through targeted physiotherapy.

As a certified sports dentist, Dr. Marquardt is aware of the special influences of dental, oral, and jaw diseases, especially on professional athletes. Therefore, he serves as a team dentist for the German Ski Association (DSV) and other associations and top athletes, not only to ensure injury prevention but also to enhance performance. Here, the holistic approach works particularly well — from head to toe and from muscle to cell nucleus!

The practice "Dental Health at Tegernsee" is known far beyond the region. Trained staff ensure that demanding patients from all over the world lack nothing. They offer individual appointments, coordinate treatment, organize shuttle service and accommodation if needed, or arrange a supporting program for accompanying persons.

Siegfried Marquardt grew up at Tegernsee. He learned to ski in the Bavarian Alps and jumped into the crystal-clear Tegernsee with his school friends. For his studies, he moved to Munich, 50 kilometers away, and after passing his state examination in 1994, he ventured out into the world. The young dentist learned and worked with renowned colleagues around the globe — in Finland, the USA, Brazil, and Argentina — before settling back home.

Dr. Marquardt has brought international quality standards to the Upper Bavarian province. His practice is among the 'Leading Implant Centers.' Only those who offer the highest quality and exceptional comfort are admitted into this handpicked circle of the world's best dentists.

Innovation and holistic treatment concepts

Dr. Marquardt, who also holds a specialist title in implantology, has years of experience with the most challenging cases, from bone reconstruction to placing artificial tooth roots to fitting new teeth. He, along with his team, is closely connected with science and the university. He conducts research, is active internationally as a speaker, runs his own training institute, and has built an interdisciplinary network of dedicated dentists and doctors who regularly look over each other's shoulders to continuously improve together.

Innovation and holistic treatment concepts distinguish 'Dental Health at Tegernsee.' Whether digital volume tomography (DVT), computer-assisted functional analyses, digital intraoral impressions, or CAD/CAM-based manufacturing of high-performance ceramics – the latest developments are established in practice for the benefit of patients. In 2017, the practice received the Upper Bavarian Economic Award for Innovation. Passionate perfectionism is the hallmark of the entire team. "It's always an uplifting feeling when a patient can leave the practice healthy and happily beaming," emphasizes Dr. Marquardt.
